Bedford

Extend Platform 4 (south) by 5 metres to achieve a 245m platform length. There will be no change to the existing canopies however the current footbridge will require review to achieve clearance for the installation of electrified lines.
To gain safe access to the site, the construction team will be hoarding off part of the station car park from (approx date). This means there will be reduced parking at the station by approximately 192 spaces; just under a third of the current car parking capacity.

Cycle storage at the station:
Once the works commence, the current station cycle hub will be temporarily relocated to (location).

    A Rail Replacement Bus service will run direct every 15 minutes between Bedford and Corby where customers can connect to trains for journeys further North which will travel via Kettering.

    If you are travelling to Wellingborough. a Rail Replacement Bus service will depart from the station front every 30 minutes.

     

    If you are travelling South towards Bedford; services will terminate at Leicester until 10:00. From 10:00 all services from the North will travel via Kettering and terminate at Corby.

    Until 10:00, a Rail Replacement Bus service will run direct every 15 minutes between Leicester and Bedford, where customers can connect to rail services towards London St Pancras.

    After 10:00, a Rail Replacement Bus service will run direct every 15 minutes between Corby and Bedford, where customers can connect to rail services  towards London St Pancras.
