Wellingborough

Platform extension works are scheduled to commence at Wellingborough in late April 2019, to cater for trains of up to 240m in length. Platforms 1, 2 and 3 will be extended to achieve 245m, with a new Platform 4 constructed to serve customers travelling to London St Pancras.

There will also be alterations to the platform canopies to allow clearance for the installation of electrified lines, with these works planned to start in August 2019.

    Your journey will not be affected however train departure times may be different from our printed timetable.

     

    If you are travelling Northbound

     

    Trains will divert around Market Harborough and Leicester with journey times being extended by 40-60 minutes.

     

    If you are travelling to Market Harborough or Leicester you should change at Kettering for a replacement coach service.

    If you are travelling to the north you should join a replacement coach service to Corby to connect with trains to Leicester, Derby, Nottingham and Sheffield.

     

    If you are travelling to Kettering or Market Harborough you should join a direct replacement coach service.

    You should join a replacement coach service to Bedford to connect with trains to London St Pancras.

    A Rail Replacement Bus service will run every half hour between Wellingborough and Market Harborough where customers will be able to connect on to trains Northbound.

     

    If you are travelling South; services will terminate at Market Harborough.

    A Rail Replacement Bus service will run every half hour calling at Kettering and Wellingborough, before continuing to Bedford.

    Customers travelling towards London St Pancras should use the Rail Replacement bus service to Bedford, where you will be able to connect with rail services.

    If you are travelling North; rail services will run between London St Pancras and Bedford only.

    A Rail Replacement Bus service will run every half hour from Wellingborough to Corby, where customers can connect with Northbound rail services which will run via Kettering.

     

    If you are travelling South; services will terminate at Leicester until 10:00. From 10:00 all services from the North will run via Kettering and terminate at Corby.

    Before 10:00, a Rail Replacement Bus service will run every half hour from Leicester calling at Market Harborough, Kettering and Wellingborough.

    After 10:00, a Rail Replacement Bus service will run every half hour from Corby towards Bedford, calling at Wellingborough.

     

    Customers travelling South towards London St Pancras should use the half hourly Rail Replacement bus service to Bedford, where you will be able to connect with rail services.

     

  • Services on our London route will be severely disrupted with no direct services to London St Pancras International.
    If you’re travelling to London, part of your journey will be by coach.
    No southbound trains will run from Wellingborough with coaches running between Wellingborough and Bedford. Trains will run between Bedford and London St Pancras International.
    Passengers travelling north will need to travel by replacement coach to Leicester, where they can connect to trains to Sheffield or Nottingham.
